Saturday 11th nov:

This week nothing I’ve done outside of work has required me to wear anything nice at all, so today is my first proper outfit of the week. On Tuesday I did some modelling at the Hyatt Hotel for Melbourne Cup which was super fun, but all I wore there were my work pants with one of my big band t-shirts so I really didn’t think it was something I’d add into here.

Anyway today I didn’t even leave my house, and usually on days like this I wouldn’t leave my comfy clothes, doing this as a weekly post has actually got me really excited about clothes and what I wear, so I did put something on that was a little bit more presentable.

I also dyed my hair today. I saw that I dyed it but really my mum had to do it for me because I have way too much hair to do it by myself. It’s super light now, which I love, and it’s also so fluffy in these photos because I’d blow dried it.

But my outfit; again I’m wearing the one pair of shorts I own that I actually want to wear, with my new belt that I’ve been wearing anytime it’s possible. I’m pretty obsessed with this belt honestly. It’s real leather but it has the croc embossing detail which I absolutely love, and it’s almost small enough for me around my waist (it’s a little too big but I can get away with it without having to do the wrap around moment I usually have to do).

My shirt is thrifted and it’s super cute in my opinion. I love that it’s long sleeved and also cropped, and it sits at a perfect height to just skim the top of my high waisted pieces. I also love the little collar with the v-neck.

The jacket is also thrifted, but this is one of those jackets that have been everywhere so you could definitely find one almost exactly the same at General Pants or on ASOS. I’ve loved this style of jacket for a couple of years now and I have a couple of them, all being super lucky salvo finds.

Lastly my slides, which are from Kmart. I feel like almost all of my outfits that I’ve posted on here have had something from either an op-shop or Kmart. I just think these are adorable though. I went with the gold ones and I’ve really surprised myself with how much I like them, plus they’re so comfy and just easy to wear.

Sunday 12th nov:

Today was such a nice day. The weather was so sunny up until the late afternoon when it got all gloomy, but I still love that too sometimes. I really didn’t get up to much today but at least I left the house, unlike yesterday.

Once again my washed black denim shorts make an appearance. These are just my favourite style of shorts, and I’m on a hunt to find more pairs almost exactly the same in different denim. Every time I’ve worn these in photos I’ve said they’re by the brand Things We Lost, but I’m actually not 100% sure if they are. I bought them from Landspeed Records in the city, and they weren’t one of their vintage pieces, so I assume they’re from Things We Lost which is the brand of all of their clothing. The thing is though that they have no tag or anything in them, but I guess I’ll continue to say they’re by Things We Lost until I know differently.

Same shorts but a different belt today. I’ve got on one of my dads’ old belts today, and because it’s too big for me to put around my waist, I’ve done the little twist around I always do in this situation. It’s super easy to do, holds your belt on just as well as if you could properly do it up, and I think it just adds a little bit more interest to an outfit. I love how worn in the leather on this belt is too.

My jacket is one I often forget I own because it’s definitely harder to style than a lot of other jackets I own. I think it really serves some serious lab coat looks but I still love it none the less. I think one of the big things that got me about this jacket was the big tortoiseshell buttons down the front. I’m always a sucker for tortoiseshell. I think it’s just a cool piece for me to have, it’s really different to anything else I have and I love it for exactly that reason.

And I have to take a minute just to talk about my Birkenstocks. If you are in the market for a good summer shoe, then you need a pair. I’ve had mine for about 2 and a half years and they’ve lasted so well. They’re the absolute comfiest shoe, and personally, I love how they look. I’m so glad when I got mine I went for the dark brown leather with brass buckles, and not just the typical white or black ones which were super on trend at the time. I’ve never seen anyone else with the same pair as me.

My hat is from Fallen Broken Street and I love it. I bought it at splendour earlier this year, and I’m so glad I did. I haven’t worn it really at all since then, but I’m hoping that now we’re getting into summer I’ll be bringing it out a lot more. I’ll defnitely be trying to make a concious effort to anyway.
